Hi, I’m Charisa Weyers — the maker, dreamer, and hands-on entrepreneur behind Vrek Lekker.
I actually started out as a teacher, but I’ve always loved creating things people enjoy. This whole fudge journey began with one simple request from my dad: “Can you make soft fudge you can eat with a spoon?”
What followed was months of late-night experimenting, plenty of flops, and a whole lot of determination — until I finally got it just right. That one perfect jar turned into something I never expected: a growing brand with thousands of loyal customers, a nationwide reseller network, and an amazing community of sweet lovers.
These days, I still love sharing fun, easy recipes online — but my fudge recipe will always be the heart of Vrek Lekker. It’s special because I spent months tweaking it to get that perfect soft, spoonable texture you can’t find anywhere else. What started on TikTok has now grown onto Facebook too, and today more than 180,000 sweet lovers follow my journey across social media.
About
The name Vrek Lekker started long before the fudge. Back when I was sharing quick and easy recipes on TikTok, I’d always take a bite at the end and say, “Mmm… Vrek lekker!” — and it just stuck. I never imagined those fun little cooking videos would spark the beginning of a brand now loved by sweet tooths all over South Africa.
What started with a few casual recipe videos has turned into something so much bigger — a business built around sweetness, creativity, and community.
