At Vrek Lekker, we pride ourselves on delivering handcrafted treats made fresh in small batches. Because our products are perishable and sensitive to heat, we follow strict refund and return guidelines to ensure fairness, safety, and clarity for all customers.

Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.
 

1. No Refunds on Opened, Consumed, or Expired Products

Due to food safety and hygiene regulations:

  • We do not offer refunds on any opened, consumed, or expired products.

  • Perishable items cannot be returned, reused, or resold for health reasons.

  • No refunds are processed for custom-made orders.

Customers are responsible for checking freshness, suitability, and ingredients upon receiving the product.


2. Damaged Parcels Upon Delivery

If your parcel arrives damaged, we gladly assist — but strict conditions apply:

To qualify for a replacement, you must:

  1. Send clear photos immediately upon opening the parcel.

  2. Include photos of:

    • the damaged product

    • the external packaging

    • the waybill

  3. Report the issue within 24 hours of receiving the parcel.

If proven that the damage occurred during transit or packaging, a replacement will be issued at no cost.

Cash refunds are not offered for damaged items — replacements only.


3. Suspected Manufacturing Defects

If you believe a product has a manufacturing defect, the following applies:

Notify us within 7 days of receiving your order.

To assess the issue accurately:

a. Do not consume the product
The item must remain untouched and in its original packaging.

b. Provide photo & video evidence
Evidence must clearly show:

  • the suspected defect

  • batch number

  • production date / best-before date

  • proof of when the photos/videos were taken

c. Contact us directly
Email or WhatsApp us with:

  • your full name

  • order number

  • date of purchase

  • description of the problem

  • the required evidence

All suspected defects are reviewed case-by-case.
If we confirm the defect came from our manufacturing process, you may receive:

  • a replacement product or

  • a full refund (at our discretion)


4. Issues That Do NOT Qualify for Refunds or Replacements

We cannot offer refunds or replacements for:

  • Products damaged due to heat exposure

  • Melting caused by leaving parcels outside or in a hot area

  • Spoilage caused by improper storage

  • Allergy or ingredient reactions

  • Incorrect delivery details supplied by the customer

  • Courier delays or failed delivery attempts

  • Parcels not collected timeously

  • Products consumed after the best-before date

  • Slight colour, texture, or size variations (handmade items may vary slightly)

  • Change of mind after payment

  • Orders placed incorrectly by the customer

Once a parcel leaves our kitchen, storage and handling are the customer’s responsibility.


5. Courier & Delivery Disclaimer

Once your order is handed to The Courier Guy:

  • Vrek Lekker is not liable for delays, missing parcels, or courier handling.

  • Refunds cannot be issued for courier delays or missed deliveries.

We will always assist where possible, but courier operations are outside our control.
 

6. Refund Processing (If Approved)

If a refund is approved after investigation:

  • Refunds are processed using the same payment method used at checkout.

  • Refunds may take 3–7 business days to reflect depending on the bank.

  • Refund approval is at the sole discretion of Vrek Lekker after reviewing all evidence.
